What is RtI? -

This is such a great question and I frequently am asked what this position is/does/and means.

Here is how I like to look at it.

RtI - or Response To Intervention

is simply just a support. A helping hand to aid students through a stress free education.

Whether it be a support in reading, writing, spelling, or math - we will make sure each student is given the support they need.

We are simply supporting students and giving them the "boost" they may need to be successful.

When put that way, it's not so scary right?

At Erie Elementary, we have three, certified and trained response to intervention teachers. Among the degrees is a reading specialist, plenty of reading endorsements, general education degrees, and a special education degree.

This being said - we take RTI seriously!

Lessons can be anywhere from 15 minutes, to 30 minutes. Six students in the group, or simply just one student in the group.

We are simply here as a support and each and everyone of our goals is to ensure the success of the student!
